I had a dream this morning in which I was visited by two people who have been reported as dead. I have not seen either of them in the warm flesh for twenty years so it was a bit out of the blue. I was again talking with dead people.
It has pointed back to the old “wrong end of the stick” theme in which my dreams, time and again, suggest that various people have gotten entirely the wrong end of the stick about me and what I think / am. This wrong end of the stick has been incorporated into their assimilation of world view and there is bugger all I can do to get them to let go of the wrong end of the stick. The wrong end of the stick is stuck fast.
It also raises the question of allegiance. For example, is my allegiance with the holy church of physical sciences, am I a delusional new-age crystal feeler, a reincarnated Buddhist or a Toltec nagal. Or is my allegiance with the eccentric nut-job loony tunes psychotic whackos?
It is a strange quirk of human behaviour and orientation that people want to know what your allegiance is, to which gang /club / cult you belong. People want you to choose sides; you can’t be both a Blood and a Crip.

This gang orientation pervades society. Are you a glamorous cavalier Brexiteer or a grey whinging Remoaner? Thanks to Gary Glitter we all have to join a gang…
If you are not pure-blood, a muggle of sorts, those high in the gang hierarchy won’t accept you. You need to chose and earn your “colours”, learn the jargon and use gang mudra. You can’t chant Research Excellence Framework bullet points and Guru Rinpoche mantra. You must choose to which gang you avow allegiance.
You are not allowed to be both, a quantum superposition. It is forbidden by classical thinking. Either or trumps both and. Get off the fence!!
People can be very adamant about allegiance; they kill for it and exclude people who are not fully sworn into or paid up members of the {one and only} club. If you err you can be excommunicated and shunned.
If you were to suggest to a cult member of any club or society that they were prejudiced, they would adamantly deny, after all WE know best and everyone else is an ignorant pleb.
{Don’t you know old chap.}
It is nigh on impossible to persuade anyone who has gotten the wrong end of the stick, otherwise.
Sticks are called sticks because they are sticky.
