Science Exam – Zero Marks – Dream –25-02-2025

Here is this morning’s dream.

The dream starts in a common room area. I am with a group of people awaiting the results of a set of science exams. People are nervous and there is much talk of “bricking it”. I too have sat the exams. I say that I will go to collect my exam papers from my pigeon hole. I get there and there are two A4 exam papers each held together with a small bulldog clip. I pull them out and look at them. On the top paper the mark is written as 0 out of 33. The zero is in pencil and the bottom half of the fraction is in black biro. The second paper has 0 out of 33 written in angry red biro inside a red circle. It has been written with some vehemence.

I go back to the gathering and they too have had their exam papers back. One of them, a young man, asks me to go through his paper with him to check. This I do and see that there has only been one small error in the marking. I suggest that he gets someone else to check with him because I got zero for both of mine. He is astounded as are others in the room.

Looking at my exam papers the answers are not as expected in the mark scheme and one of them is more essay-like on entrepreneurship. One of the students comments that it might be difficult for “them” to explain how I was given zero, given my background.

I suggest that it is unlikely that it will ever air.

I wonder should I try to re-take my exams in the summer because it will be impossible for me to find a job without a science degree.

Where Did the Singularity Come From?

Following on from this morning’s dream I have been reading around cosmogenesis from an exoteric scientific viewpoint including a few articles on quantum loop gravity. It seems to me there are some whopping great gaps. Many of the schema talk of an initial singularity so dense that space-time as we know it in a corporeal and planetary sense was yet to come into being. But a singularity does have a Cartesian dimension of 1, a point. I am not sure a point, a thing, can exist without a no-thing a void.

So, already at singularity you have thing and no-thing.

Where did that singularity stem from? Was if from multiple quantum fluctuations in the true void. Where creation and annihilation operators act on the vacuum to spark particles in and out of matter. There would have to be a lot of fluctuations to create a massive gravitational singularity.

What is the void?

Does it have edges where stuff begins?

Is the void infinite?

If there is no-thing then finite has no meaning, so yes it could be infinite. Inherent here is a trap of dimension. How does the void where there is no-thing go on for ever. Dimension in absence of thing does not exist. A dimensionless void? Is that simply a human conceptual problem where we cannot conceive scale without matter, without stuff?

Some of the articles suggest that space is greater than the current evolving universe and that the matter of the universe is still expanding into that vacuum. The scale is mooted beyond the manifest, even though there is no matter it has space.

How does one envisage an infinite void, where there is absolutely no-thing?

A singularity arising out of a previously manifest universe seems more probable, the crunch of a prior manifest universe(s) into an ultra-dense singularity.

How many universes have there been? Which was the first?

In Toltec “cosmology” the universal spirit, the Nagal, without form contemplated the utter nothingness of the void. Eternity passed even though there was not as yet time. The Nagal noted that for it the no-thing, the void, was very much the known. It noted that for it the thing was the unknown. The Nagal wanted to better understand the no-thing by comparing it to thing. It wanted to find out and set its intent on so doing. As an effect of this cause the void started to stir, it stirred and the first thing was created out of no-thing. Nascent matter was created. The act of manifesting an entire universe so as to contrast thing against no-thing had begun. The Nagal wanted to separate the known, no-thing, into the unknown, thing, in order to learn.

Such an abbreviated verbalisation is consistent with quantum fluctuations, it stirred.

But how do we as carnate beings contemplate the no-thing of void, how do we touch the void out of which creation be-came.

I have used UHV vacuum equipment and ultra-high vacuum is enclosed by stainless steel. That is easy to get your head around. A complete and truly profound vacuum has never been attained on earth. So, any experiment to test for vacuum behaviours tests the behaviour of space in which there is still some matter and which is constrained by the dimension of vessel. We cannot experimentally probe utter vacuum unconstrained by any boundary conditions.

There is no way we can experiment on an infinite void, because in our universe that no longer exits. We are speculating on physics in a complete absence of any matter or dimension, we may be barking up the wrong tree.

Is Time Quantised Dream 28-01-2025

Here is last night’s dream. It is not the sort of dream you want to have if you are trying to go back to sleep. It gets you thinking that although energy and matter (particles) can be quantized, time is not, whereas dimension can give rise to quantisation. Our cosmological conception is very reliant on our notion of “universal” constants. We rely on atomic clocks to define time and the speed of light to define dimension.

The dream starts with me sat in an armchair nearly opposite Théun. There is a low-level table, and we are looking in the same direction but not at each other. On the table are tallish glasses with a straw and some kind of spirit and mixer drink. There is a bowl of pistachios.

The gist of conversation is to do with seeing. I ask him when he looks forward at the possibilities in the web of life does he see and thereby know which ones are more likely. He says that he does and that the further into left sided awareness he goes the more obvious the trajectory is. He comments that seeing is only ever a snapshot of possibility. I ask when he looks backwards in time how does it differ. He says that the before-time is confined whereas the aftertime is more expansive. He says that seeing backwards offers a different interpretation and collection of events as they were once perceived.

I say that back when I used to do this his description is similar to what I used to observe with one difference I tended never to select any likelihood from the possibilities. I comment that our whole world view is largely dependent on a currently expansive universe due to the so-called big bang. Time’s arrow is expanding dimension and space.

I say that there could be some granularity or quantisation to time. There could be vector like behaviour. Two back vectors make perception go to before-time. Two forward vectors take perception to aftertime or future. Whereas one back and one forward are now and that is in a sense eternal.

I say that I stopped trying to see, because that seemed a bit like an attempt to control, cheating even.  If we quantise time and space, will that remove the quantisation from matter and energy?

In the dream I say that the ways of the old although useful and familiar, may have to cede to newer lighter ways.

The dream ends and I am caught up thinking about it. I decide to park it and try to go back to sleep. I can always type up the dream and re-visit in the morning.

“Quantum entanglement is the phenomenon of a group of particles being generated, interacting, or sharing spatial proximity in such a way that the quantum state of each particle of the group cannot be described independently of the state of the others, including when the particles are separated by a large distance. The topic of quantum entanglement is at the heart of the disparity between classical and quantum physics: entanglement is a primary feature of quantum mechanics not present in classical mechanics.

Measurements of physical properties such as position, momentum, spin, and polarization performed on entangled particles can, in some cases, be found to be perfectly correlated. For example, if a pair of entangled particles is generated such that their total spin is known to be zero, and one particle is found to have clockwise spin on a first axis, then the spin of the other particle, measured on the same axis, is found to be anticlockwise. However, this behavior gives rise to seemingly paradoxical effects: any measurement of a particle’s properties results in an apparent and irreversible wave function collapse of that particle and changes the original quantum state. With entangled particles, such measurements affect the entangled system as a whole.”

We could say that the karma of two photons in an entangled photon pair is also entangled. Measurement of one photon collapses the wave function and establishes its karma, its fate which determines also the karma, the fate of the other photon. One of the pair photo-excites an electron in some material or other, when detected, the properties of the other photon such as polarisation are then fixed by the measurement. The entangled wave functions can be very nonlocal. The photons can have widely differing energies yet remain entangled at birth. They can be different colours. At annihilation or death of one photon the characteristics are created in the pair photon. The wave function collapse of the entangled state produces a phoenix like wave function no longer entangled in the surviving photon, an eigen function.

In principle something entangled here could have one half sent to a planet in the solar system of Sirius and remain entangled on the journey with its earthly twin. However, no one has managed to maintain a qubit coherence of 8.6 years the time needed to get there.

One can teleport the state of a part of an entangled pair, one can herald the arrival. There is all sorts of funky stuff. But people still like to invoke hidden variables to explain. There could be teleportation even heralding between here and the putative Sirian planet.

I don’t think I am overegging what physics suggests here. That is some quite far-fetched stuff.

If teleportation is possible then why not telepathy?

The generated thought form in one being read at a distance by another being. Experiments in this field are seen as pseudoscience.  People can look down their noses and go, “bah humbug”. The establishment is snooty and self-congratulatory. It is a club which has “rules” and peer pressure.

Psychiatry

The notion of telepathy is not dissimilar to three clinical concepts: delusions of thought insertion/removal and thought broadcasting. This similarity might explain how an individual might come to the conclusion that he or she were experiencing telepathy. Thought insertion/removal is a symptom of psychosis, particularly of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or substance-induced psychosis. Psychiatric patients who experience this symptom falsely believe that some of their thoughts are not their own and that others (e.g., other people, aliens, demons or fallen angels, or conspiring intelligence agencies, or artificial intelligences) are putting thoughts into their minds (thought insertion). Some patients feel as if thoughts are being taken out of their minds or deleted (thought removal). Schizophrenic patients suffering from the form of alleged telepathy known as thought broadcasting believe that their private thoughts are being broadcast to other people against their informed consent. Along with other symptoms of psychosis, delusions of thought insertion may be reduced by antipsychotic medication. Psychiatrists and clinical psychologists believe and empirical findings support the idea that people with schizotypy and schizotypal personality disorder are particularly likely to believe in telepathy.

Question: read the tone of this, is there any bias? What do you reckon? Pole up the bum?

Scepticism is largely self-fulfilling. If you believe something is not possible before experimenting you already have confirmation bias. Just as some people are overly wishful and want to believe, others are as biased in not wanting to believe. One could argue that neither is objective.

Unless you have meditated extensively it is likely that the background noise in your perceptual instrument “mind” is high. Synapses will be firing and your internal dialogue chuntering away. The signal to noise ratio of your mind will be poor. Tiny signals will get lost in the noise. If you cool your mind to 77K or below the dark current will dramatically reduce and you will be able to detect tinier signals.

Even were I still employed at a university I will speculate that the chances of getting a research grant funded to look into telepathy would be vanishingly small. I would have better luck, perhaps with the CIA or FSB. Think for a moment.

Were one to discover and enable telepathy it would be an utter game changer. The impact would be more far reaching than smartphones in time. The mobile phone manufacturers would want it suppressed ASAP.

It is my opinion that research in telepathy might be aimed at advanced meditators.

It is suggested that the many of the blue books opus is the result of telepathic interplay. Nobody can verify post hoc. Even if you don’t believe them one has to accept that it is an opus a big internally self-consistent body of work.

Telepathic rapport is mooted as being a faculty of the evolving humanity in the incoming new age. People might have to get used to spukhafte Fernwirkung or spooky long distance effects.

Dice Numerology Mantra and Periodic Table Dream – 20-11-2024

Here is this morning’s dream segment perhaps following on from my Tibetan Dice dream at the beginning of November. I am in a project to carve some dice out of some Apple wood from our “orchard”.

In the dream I am shown a 3d image of a wooden die rotating in space. I note that the pairs of faces are 1 and 6, 3 and 4, 5 and 2. Each opposing pair adds up to 7 which in the dream I know to be the jewel of awareness 7, or need for guidance. I know that the maximum score of two dice is 12.

In the dream I know that 6 represents Carbon and 1 is Hydrogen. They are chemically fond of each other. Carbon plus Hydrogen is 7.

I picture a periodic table of elements and see 1 – Hydrogen, 2 – Helium, 3 – Lithium, 4 – Beryllium, 5 – Boron and 6 – carbon. I know that 7 is Nitrogen.

I understand that the dice represents the Mantra of Manjushri and chant it in the dream.

Om ah ra pa tsa na dhi.  

Wisdom ripens all sentient beings. Om 1 2 3 4 5 6

In the dream I know that Li and Be are highly reactive but I do not know much about Boron. Lithium is the basis of many batteries but it is very flammable in metallic form. Lithium is 3 mixed abundance.

I understand in the dream that I need to complete the manufacture of the dice and work on the Manjushri mantra.

Unprecedented Dreaming

For me it has been a useful exercise to group these dreams thematically and see the scope and variety of subject matter. Many people are interested in dreams and things like lucid dreaming. There is an attempt to gain scientific credibility for dream studies using instrumentation and the statistical methods of psychology. Taken as a whole the opus of dreams published here and those not yet published may be unprecedented, and unique. Who else dreams of vajras, patents, lamas and hydrogen bonded water clusters?   

Am I simply an anomaly or is there something more significant at work?

In general people seek to promote their own ideas and profile. The not invented here syndrome can be found on all sides. Group mind is very anti anyone or any idea which does not originate in the group. Outsiders are not very welcome especially if they challenge the status quo or question current operational dogma.

I did, religiously, a Toltec dreaming practice daily at least once a day for eight years. I did it on the Victoria line of a morning. If you can do dreaming practice on a crowded rush hour tube you can do it anywhere. The control has to be good. The intent behind this practice is to connect with the dreamer {Soul or reincarnating Jiva} and then to hand over the steering wheel of the earthly vehicle to her. To live life according to the advice given in dreams, to surrender control.

Subsequent to this I did a meditation called the master in the heart which has a similar purpose, of connection. It builds the Antahkarana, a rāja yoga. One could say that Toltec dreaming draws inspiration down and the yoga builds upwards. They are rose and lotus visualisations. Union or at-one-ment are the goals or aim if you like. It does not require wearing tight leggings or looking fit / hot. It does mean that some measure of letting go of imagined control is needed.

Because I am good at visualisation, I have extended the rāja yoga to “places” beyond any written account. In Toltec terms a steady pictorial visualisation is an active dream in which you imagine and hold fast an image. These dream thought forms tend to stabilize when they are “accurate” and reproducible.  For example, the Sahasrāra chakra or crown chakra is one such visualisation. Opening this chakra and going beyond it is a death practice in which one opens the exit door. In order to do this one needs to stretch the sūtrātman anchoring the life inside the body. It is a risky thing to do, control must be impeccable. I first did this in a detached house in the middle of a wood on a country estate a distance from interruption and people. During the day I was quite alone in a “cabin” in a wood.

Because I am a scientist by training and I used to train smart young things in science at a top university and at high school sixth form levels. I even had postdoctoral workers. I have kept lab books or dream journals. The rāja yoga or active dream meditations were extensive with some of the thought forms taking weeks and months to build.  What one experiences in passing to a “higher” more “rarefied” state of consciousness is a kind of “membrane” which has to be transcended / popped. Each new state is difficult to hold or stabilize. Yet with practice it can be done. Here is one page from my dream journal.

In these meditations slight residual corporeal awareness remains but all sense of earth-time vanishes. There is a distant awareness of the room. One continues breathing but unconsciously so. I did record electroencephalograms {EEG} and video for a few of these. The EEG is, aside from very low frequency and amplitude theta, essentially flat despite the visualisation.

These meditations have a sensation of extensive travel to non-mundane “levels” “states” or “places”.

There is no way that I could adequately convey the experience to others. Unless you have “gone” there yourself you cannot know. Of particular assistance was the mantra associated with the Heart Sutra which one can chant in order to change between states when working upwards.

Gate gate, para gate, para sum gate bodhi svaha

Gone gone, gone beyond, gone beyond the beyond, hail the awakening

I was in conscious control doing this during daylight and without drugs or booze.

One needs to take great care to come back “down” and into body consciousness. At first the “path” downwards is as slow as the “upward”. In time one knows the way “home” and this can be done more quickly.

I guess these meditations are a form of white tantra. They are situated at anja and above and have nothing to do with basal tantra. In some later meditations three centres are active, heart, anja and sahasrāra.

In my book active visualisation and 3d {sometimes +} thought form building is active dreaming.

Of course I could be kidding myself, but I somehow doubt that.

The Problem of Out of the Box Thinking

Of late I have stopped looking at Twitter because there is an awful lot of stuff about the upcoming American presidential election. It does not speak well of the level of intelligence. It remains a mystery to me why/how such a technologically advanced society can have some very backward thinking, which is adamant and dogmatic.

Because I was “forced” to be right handed my school career got off to a bad start. I was forever being deducted marks for poor hand writing and shite diagrams. I chose not to study biology in six form because I was always losing marks for poor diagrams. I use a bow and arrow left-handed and I set up the food mixer “gammy” according to the wife.

Human beings can hold seemingly contradictory ideas at the same time without it causing them problems. For example, it is OK to bomb Gaza to smithereens killing thousands but to abort a foetus is forbidden / evil.  People believe the standard model of physics and yet still talk of heaven up there and hell down there. The concept of getting virgins as a reward for martyrdom is inconsistent with not having a body or penis when dead. People refer to heaven as a “place” but without physical form Cartesian notions of space are invalid. How would a discarnate consciousness be even aware of space with no eyes, no ears and in the absence of a heartbeat there would be no clock to provide time. Time and space would no longer exist.

Apparently, there is more in the universe which we don’t know than we do.

“In the standard lambda-CDM model of cosmology, the mass–energy content of the universe is 5% ordinary matter, 26.8% dark matter, and 68.2% a form of energy known as dark energy. Thus, dark matter constitutes 85% of the total mass, while dark energy and dark matter constitute 95% of the total mass–energy content.”

Yet people can be very adamant and assertive.

History shows that scientific models evolve and change. We tend to keep the old models and then add exception or special cases until using the old model is like flogging a dead horse. New out of the box ideas are nearly always seen as whacky at the get-go. This can lead to reputational loss and peer group shunning.

The phenomenon of quantum entanglement and its resolution with at distance effects on the other half of an entangled pair was a non sequitur for Einstein. We choose to describe the physics by calling two eigenstates entangled. It works for our purposes and has practical application. There is a part of me which wonders if we are missing something, if there is an underlying physics we are not yet aware of.  Will the people a century from now look back at our naivety? We teach wave particle duality but the electron does not give a toss how we describe things. We forget that our descriptions and models are just that. They are only so good as they are useful yet people are evangelical about them.

Logically there is a physics problem with heaven and hells. Where are they? Are they off planet, in a parallel universe, down the back of a sofa? What exactly goes there? It cannot be corporeal.

People can tend not to ask such questions. They can be seen as heretical.

A fair swathe of humanity believe in some form of “life” after death, which seems illogical from a reductionist point of view. Nobody has every proven life after death; therefore all “scientists” will tend towards atheism and life ends period. Yet there are many scientists of faith.

I personally have circumstantial dream evidence which points at reincarnation. I can say this in public because it no longer can affect my career prospects.

Modern science can be said to apply to the manifest universe. Religion suggests something non-manifest as we know it in the common view of the world. If using our current thinking we don’t know what 95% of the energy-mass of the manifest universe is, how can we be sure what is not manifest?

There is a big hole in our understanding.

In meditation I have opened the Sahasrāra chakra using visualisation and, in a stepwise manner visualized my awareness and consciousness outside my body. I did this by stretching the Sutratma and Antahkarana over a number of months. This was thinking out of the box so to speak. There was very little residual corporeal awareness “there”. According to some theories this is what happens at death. In that tradition this is a death practice.

I can in no way prove that I took my awareness out. I could have been kidding myself. I did also have a visual of looking down at me on the operating table during my colon cancer surgery. If I had to place a bet. Some kind of non-corporeal awareness can exist. I’ll find out for sure, soon enough.

People are allowed to think outside the societal box but they must not stray too far from the accepted reality box. If they think outside accepted paradigm, they risk excommunication. Another human being (priest) can by using a spell (rite) stop them from going to a place which nobody knows where it is and from which no one has come back bearing tales.

Anything truly original and avantgarde is very risky in socio-political terms.

Thinking outside the box close, just a tad outside the box, is allowed.

Trans-paradigmatic thinking is forbidden.

Novel Gaming Concept Dream 01-09-2024

I have not played any computer games since the 1980s and those were on a BBC computer. I have no immersion into gaming culture aside from having watched the film Assassins’ Creed. Here is this morning’s dream. Completely out of the blue.

The dream starts in a wide open boulevard with coconut trees. I understand the location to be California possibly South. I am going into a small nondescript low rise building through some sliding smoked glass doors. Inside the air conditioning is fierce. It is a hive of activity with young men and women in their twenties and thirties. It is full of information technology with multiple wide screens and computers and floor to ceiling television screens. I check in at a round reception desk. I know that I am recruited because of my imagination and the fact that I have no immersion in gaming culture therefore any ideas I have will not be generic and formulaic.

This young company wants to revolutionize gaming and sees those non immersed as a part of the key.

I am taken down into the basement, their development lab. They are working on an immersive virtual reality full chair experience. The young sandy haired American ushers me to sit in the chair. I do this and it re-configures to surround me. Two arms come up under mine and hand controllers on servos adjust themselves into my hands.

As I touch them a full heads up display becomes visible in front of my eyes. It is clear that I am going to need to fly along an alpine valley at considerable speed. I am not a plane. I am a pterodactyl. I fly off down the valley and pull a sharp ascent at the end.

They are delighted that I understood the controls intuitively and without instruction.

I wake up and get an ice pack for the wife from downstairs.

Back in the dream. A young man, one of the founders, knocks on my door. He says for the time being I will need to drive him to work until they figure out the next steps. He ushers me to sit on an open designed bench like structure with four small white walled tyres. As I sit down a small control panel comes up. I touch it and the vehicle surges forward. I now also have bicycle like handles with breaks. I break. He says that I need to disengage the fully automatic clutch which is a red button on the control panel. I do this and the electric engine is now in neutral. He sits next to me on my right hand side and shows me how to activate the heads up display. We set off. He says that we need to go faster. Some bicycle pedals appear and our rate of pedalling controls the speed.

He says that we are not going fast enough. The vehicle splits into two two-wheelers and he rides off into the distance. I follow. He parks his vehicle and goes into the building of the day previous. In the grounds a young man is being exposed to the contents of an English rowing boat house. There are an eight, oars, old-school rowing clothing, a coxes’ bronze megaphone and wet-bob caps. I know he is being trained for a role in a Harry Potter style game.

I go up the steps and to the sliding smoked glass doors. As I do this I am met by a young man with dark hair, an American. He says that they have decided that I will be the croupier in the next game development, the croupier being a very important oversight role who to an extent controls the game.

Trying to Dream in a New Quantum Modality

Dreaming and en-visioning can be seen as roughly the same things. At the moment I am trying to dream in, imagine and picture a new modality for molecular quantum bits. Instead of starting from what is already operational I aim for a blank canvas, nothing ruled out from the get-go.

I am loading my head with a wide range of research papers to reactivate some of the capacity. I am not trying to “get” the full meaning of them, besides in some cases my maths is way too poor. What I can do is picture the experimental configurations in terms of lasers, optics, pumps and molecules. I “see” molecular symmetry and can visualize potential energy surfaces. I can animate in the mind’s eye molecular vibrations and wave packet trajectory.  

This is a form of actively conscious dreaming, arguably.

I am leaving my background intuitional {not currently conscious} processors to work on the input.

Fully aware that what I am trying to do is unlikely, it is not however beyond the realms of possibility.

Because I am under no time pressure nor institutional pressure to perform to metric, I am relaxed and unstressed.

It does not matter if I succeed or not. I’ll speculate that this lack of fretting is beneficial and not detrimental.

So far, I have a few very hazy pictures which are not starting to coalesce yet. One has already vanished as a no go.

I trust my intuition to go far left field and past the constraints of regular reason. If and when it is ready it will pop something partially formulated into mind. Then I will have to check and maybe be calculate.

In the absence of measured reasons “why not to”, the intuition can get on unhindered by “what if” and “but what if”.

I may even get a “science” dream…

Basic ingredients in the frequency domain are, there should be a manageable balance between thermal budget and decoherence. Optical detection is better at shorter wavelength means less detector cooling. High clock rate good. High quantum fidelity is important or massive error correction methodology.

What may be on the cusp of the dream?
