If you type dream yoga into Google this web site does not come up. There are other sites, some refer to Tibetan Yogas of Dreams and many talk about Lucid Dreaming – hey man…far out…
The purpose of any yoga is, in the limit, union. It is not to get a hot body or look good. Nor is it to have trippy experiences on the astral plane.
From time to time I get mentions in my dreams about me running courses, holding retreats or even starting an ashram. I know how to organise and run courses. I have organised half a dozen international retreats and many more team and personal development courses. I can do this from venue selection through course programme to menu. I can accommodate space and time for daily prayers for practising Muslims. I can cater plant based. Running a well-oiled course is well within my capability if no longer my budget. I lack experience in the minefield of LBGTQIA+. I would probably fuck up and offend someone. I could take advice.
From an organisational point of view I could do courses.
From the point of view of getting anyone to attend, it is unlikely. I can’t be arsed to do the time-honoured thing of self-promotion via book and social media. I am not affiliated to any big cheese and therefore have no lineage provenance. I am not famous…I cannot claim power by association to any guru or famous person.
If I did a course nobody would know that it was on and nobody would care.
So, we have another instance of things cropping up in dreams which are possible but which are not practical or probable.
In my view the purpose of dreaming is to enable contact with one’s Soul and then allow it to advise upon how to live life. One then surrenders to the Soul and stops trying to force life into to some shoe-horned ersatz of what we think it must be or are led by peer pressure to believe life is all about.
That sounds simple enough. It is however a total radical overhaul of living and will inevitably change life direction. This is not a tweak.
It is not a nice massage on a beach in Thailand or a colonic irrigation with concentrated and shaman blessed pomegranate juice. It will not aide your gut biome one bit nor increase your Insta and TikTok follower number.
It will make you feel shit if you do it properly because there will be a huge conflict between what you want life to be and how your Soul, your dreamer, wishes to learn. The degree of resistance will be very high and you will not be happy…you will be in a kind of internal war for months and years.
To abandon control to your dreamer is very scary for a so-called rational person. Once this has happened life becomes significantly less stressful and more unpredictable.
To dabble is not to seek union and dabbling will not bring any enlightenment nor any lightening of the load.
If you want to feel nice learn stretchy yoga and go on expensive wellness retreats in nice spa locations, dip into your wallet or bitcoin stash for some exotic destinations.
It would take me many hours of conversation with elements of challenge therein to find out “where” someone might be. This will never be “where” they might think they are…
As the last dream suggests people might have ideas and notions about what a dreaming retreat might look like and entail.
It is likely to differ markedly from my version…
If your dreamer is insistent on you working with me, then in the fullness of time you might be wise to listen. Otherwise your dreamer will make life uncomfortable for you in ways you don’t imagine and on a logarithmic scale.
Within this logic there is no need for me to organise any retreats. Sooner or later our paths will cross.. {again?}
As the current life trajectory is evolving I cannot see any path which leads me to opening or running a retreat centre in the foreseeable future. Given my life experience I would, in any case, be strongly disinclined so to do…
