Yesterday I spoke with an estate agent in Carmarthen about a house I saw for sale on line. Internet out in the countryside is sketchy we might have to rely on flaky Musk and Starlink.
As usual the further you are from civilisation the more house you get for your money. If we need a 20 grand mortgage that would cost something like an extra £2.5 K a year. This opens up a wider range of property to us.
Every year, unless it has changed, there is a high demand for “A” level physics and chemistry tuition post mock exams. Also perhaps Welsh baccalaureate…
The demand is very seasonal January – June. People shit themselves and then try to find a tutor.
There are not many, if any, face to face tutors in the ‘hood.
There are a few UK people offering on line tuition at prices from £30 per hour up to over £100…
It seems there is a market gap locally. I personally would struggle to charge £100 per hour as this seems ridiculously high. I could not rip people off like that.
I could probably price myself above entry level say at £50 per hour.
So that would require around 50 tutorials at around 8 per week, January to June.
That seems feasible at two one hour tutorials per day…
Easy in the second year with good reviews…harder in first year.
It should be possible to find a house with in 30 mins drive of a decent sized hospital…
No show-stopper as yet…
The man said, to paraphrase, “as long as you are not a bellend you should not have any problems fitting in with the locals.”
