Here is this morning’s dream. Dogs can be dreaming symbols for friendship and/or loyalty.
The dream opens with me driving towards some kind of edge of city farm which has a side line as a dog kennel. I park the car and walk over to the main stone building. There is an Englishman there in country tweeds. I hail him and he gestures me over.
We go inside the stone barn and the floor is covered with straw. Tied up to separate posts in the barn are two dogs. One of them a large black and white bitch is laid out on the floor. She has not long been separated from her litter. He teats are still enlarged. She is licking her nether regions. When she sees me and the man she comes over friendly and tail wagging. She is a calm introverted dog.
Next the man gestures towards a truly huge black great Dane. It is almost comically large. He says, “see that dog there if you mess with us we will unleash it on you. It will attack you!” As if on cue the dog gets up and stands with its paws on my shoulders towering over me. The man signals the dog down. He repeats, “if you mess with us we will unleash it on you. It will attack you!”
It all seems a bit off. Why does the man want to unleash his huge dog on me?
A little later on I am due to pick up the dogs. I note from my watch that it is a tad after 12 midday. I get back in my car and return to the kennel. I park up and go into the buildings. There is a lot of activity and nobody seems to notice me. I go into the barn where the dogs were and it is a mess. A man is unloading chopped wood with a fork lift. He knocks a wood pile and it spills over. He is rushing and being careless. He swears and gets off the forklift. He asks me why I am there. I reply that it is for the dogs.
We go over to where the dogs were and the bitch now untied greets me. The huge great Dane just stands there watching looking a bit “lights are on but nobody is at home”.
As the dream fades I sigh not another threat/attack theme in a dream.
